Church translation app, no download

A church translation app for live sermons, free to try.

Live sermon translation by AI, from the mixing board you already own: real-time captions in 109 languages, at every service or Mass, on the projector, on phones and in your stream.

First 4 hours free, no credit card. Then from $45 a month.

Why churches pick Livefy

Built for the gear you already have.

No new audio system, no new screens. Livefy takes the sound your board already sends and puts the words where your people already look.

  • Plugs into your mixing board

Aux Send, Sub Group, Tape Out, or USB-out: Livefy reads whatever the board sends to a laptop. No new audio system required.

  • Multiple congregations, one service

Run English, Spanish, and Korean simultaneously on any plan. Each language gets its own output for projectors, phones, OBS or vMix. The same setup serves conferences, the Catholic Mass and weddings and funerals, and Romanian churches have a page in Romanian.

  • Stream-ready

A see-through Overlay link drops straight into OBS Studio or vMix as a lower-third caption overlay for YouTube Live, Facebook Live, or any RTMP destination. Both tested on the real programs.

Sunday morning

What sermon live translation looks like on a Sunday.

  1. AV volunteer arrives

Powers up the laptop. Opens the browser to livefy.live and signs in. Total time: 30 seconds.

  2. Mic check

Pastor’s mic open through the board. Volunteer watches the level meter on Livefy bounce, checks the language spoken and the languages shown, and presses Go live.

  3. Service begins

Translated captions appear on the projector almost instantly as the pastor speaks. The volunteer presses Pause during the songs and Resume after them, which keeps the hours for the words.

Equipment checklist

What you need, what you already have.

You probably already have

  • A mixing board with an Aux Send, Sub Group, or Tape Out
  • The lapel or pulpit mic you use every Sunday
  • A laptop or desktop computer with a web browser
  • A projector, TV, or second monitor
  • Internet at the building (wired Ethernet preferred)

You may need to add

  • A USB audio interface (from about $60: Behringer UMC22, PreSonus AudioBox, or Focusrite Scarlett Solo)
  • A TRS or XLR cable to run audio from board to interface
  • OBS Studio (free) or vMix if you stream services

Full step-by-step in our setup guide, and what each kind of equipment costs in the church translation equipment guide.

On the screen

Not everyone needs a phone.

Older members do not have to hold a phone: the translation appears on the screen in the room, for everyone. Phones are for those who would rather read up close, or listen to the translation. Every way to do it, compared: how to translate a sermon live.

A church service with Livefy's Spanish caption on the big screen above the stage: En su carta a la iglesia en Colosas, Pablo les dice que permanezcan arraigados en Cristo.

FAQ FOR CHURCHES

Common questions

Does Livefy work with the mixing board we already have?

Yes. Almost every church mixing board has an Aux Send, Sub Group, or Tape Out you can route to a USB audio interface (or directly to a laptop if your board has USB out). Livefy reads the laptop input, whatever the brand of board.

Do we need translation equipment, receivers or headsets?

No. There is no transmitter, receivers or headsets to buy, hand out, clean and charge, and no booth. The captions are on the screen for everyone, and guests follow the sermon translation on their own phones. If your church already has headsets for a human interpreter, Livefy’s audio feed can put the translated voice on them too.

What about lapel and pulpit mics?

The same answer: Livefy listens to whatever the mixing board sends to the laptop. As long as the pastor’s mic is unmuted and going to the output channel you cabled to the laptop, Livefy translates it.

Can our volunteer AV team run this?

Yes. Once the initial audio routing is done (15 minutes the first time), the weekly workflow is: open Livefy in the browser, click Go live, open the screen link on the projector. The one thing to press during the service is Pause during the songs, and Resume after them: Pause stops translation.
