What’s new in Livefy

Every release since sign-ups opened, newest first. Updates reach every church at once: there is nothing to install, and the console shows the version it runs at the bottom of its side menu.

October 2026

Versions 0.269.1 to 0.270.0

Choose the speaker language, and captions through a video switcher

  • Auto detect is gone from the speaker language. It listened mainly for English and the first caption language, so a sermon in another language was often misheard. The console now asks which language the preacher speaks, and Go live waits until it is chosen.
  • Under the caption languages, a reminder: add only the languages you need, because each caption language uses its own hours.
  • Help has a new guide for churches that send the screen through a video switcher to an LED wall or the stream: a green or blue fill for its chroma key, the bar and the QR code, and a black fill for a luma key.

Versions 0.267.0 to 0.269.0

A referral window, and help calls by phone or video

  • Book a help call, at the foot of the console’s sidebar and in Settings: pick a time for a free 30-minute call with us, by phone or on a video call where we can see your screen. Your details are filled in for you.
  • Refer a church, at the foot of the console’s sidebar, opens a window: how referrals work, your church’s link with a Copy button, its short code, and a message ready to copy or email to another church.
  • A church that joins with your link gets its 10 free hours with its first plan, as before. Your church now gets its 10 when that church renews, or at once if it pays for a year (or moves to paying yearly), so a church that pays one month and leaves earns nothing. The terms of service say so.

Versions 0.263.0 to 0.266.3

Preaching in five new languages, a voice in seven, and Send feedback

  • Refer a church, at the foot of the console’s sidebar, opens your church’s referral link on Billing. Every church now sees the Refer a church card there; the link itself comes with the first plan.
  • Send feedback, at the foot of the console’s sidebar (or the top bar on a small screen): an idea, a problem or anything else, straight to the people who build Livefy, with the option to be written back to.
  • Armenian, Nepali, Georgian, Cantonese, Burmese, Somali and Yoruba now have a voice on phones: guests tap Listen to hear the translation read aloud, and the audio feed carries it too. A free trial gets one hour of voice in these seven; after that the words carry on.
  • The preacher can now speak Amharic, Eastern Armenian, Nepali, Georgian or Cantonese, marked "New" in the speaker list, and the sermon is translated into any caption language as usual. Choose the language by name: Auto detect does not listen for these five. A recording of a service preached in them cannot yet be lined up for subtitles or a dub.
  • The language lists mark the languages that have captions but no voice yet with an asterisk and a footnote, in place of the words "captions only".
  • If Livefy cannot reach the speech service when you press Go live, that try no longer counts as one of the church's starts for the day.
  • A press kit at livefy.live/press: a short description, the facts, story ideas, pictures and logos, for anyone writing about Livefy.
  • The home page shows slides, videos, the Stream Deck buttons and YouTube subtitles and dubbed audio at work, has a Book a call section, and its phone’s Listen button now plays the example.
  • The console works in Safari and Firefox as well as Chrome and Edge, and the site now says so. A few extras, such as the Browser tab sound source, still need Chrome or Edge.

Versions 0.254.2 to 0.262.0

49 new caption languages, and help by phone

  • 49 new caption languages, 109 in all, marked "New, captions only" in the language lists, among them Amharic, Eastern Armenian, Burmese, Cantonese, Dari, Georgian, Haitian Creole, Khmer, Latin, Nepali, Sinhala, Somali, Sorani Kurdish, Twi, Uyghur, Xhosa, Yoruba and Zulu; the languages page lists every one. Screens and phones show the translation in them and they use hours like any other language. There is no voice for them yet, so phones show the words with no Listen button, and the preacher cannot speak in them.
  • The website and the language checker list every language, with the new ones marked captions only.
  • Free trials are asked once, before the console opens, for the phone number of whoever sets up Livefy at the church, so we can call to help with the first service.
  • Book a 30-minute call with us at livefy.live/book: pick a weekday time and we phone you to show how Livefy works for your church.

Versions 0.249.0 to 0.254.1

Dubbed audio for YouTube

  • History’s "Download" menu can now make dubbed audio: the sermon translated again as one flowing text and read in place of the preacher’s voice, over your own recording of the service, one audio file per language, to add to the video in YouTube Studio so viewers can choose their language under the gear. Wherever nothing was translated, such as songs while the translation was paused, the video keeps its own sound. A dub uses hours for the time the service was live in that recording, and making it again for the same stretch uses no more. A free trial can make a short preview.
  • Nothing to type about when the video started: choose your recording, and Livefy finds the service in it by itself, for dubbed audio and for subtitles alike. It listens to about a minute of the recording to do it; the rest stays on your computer.
  • Every language in one go: choose the recording once and press one button, and Livefy makes the dubbed audio for each of the service’s languages in turn, saving each file to your downloads as it is ready.
  • Livefy for Stream Deck: in Settings, "Add to Stream Deck" installs Livefy’s own Stream Deck plugin, and "Connect Stream Deck" gives it your church’s key, with nothing to copy or type. Drag its Go live, Pause or resume, End, Captions language, Voice on phones and Welcome card keys onto the Stream Deck.

Versions 0.238.4 to 0.248.2

Two services at once, subtitles and sermon summaries

  • Church Plus and Church Max can run two services at once from two computers, for example the main service and a youth room. Each computer picks its service in Settings, the second service gets its own phone, screen and overlay links, and the hours left count down across both.
  • History’s "Download" menu now offers subtitle files in each language for a kept service, ready to add to a YouTube video. If the video started before "Go live", the subtitles can be moved to match.
  • A sermon summary from a kept transcript: a title, the main points, the scripture read and a paragraph for the newsletter, in any of the service’s languages.
  • Stream Deck and Bitfocus Companion buttons can go live, pause, resume, end the service and change the caption language, using a control key made in Settings.
  • The phone page shows the church’s own logo and name from its welcome card, and a guest who arrives late can tap "From the start" to read the service from its first line.
  • A demo church at livefy.live/demo plays a short sermon in 8 languages on the real phone page, with the voice, and the help page now covers Zoom, Google Meet and Teams.
  • This page: every release since sign-ups opened, with an RSS feed. The version number at the bottom of the console’s side menu opens it, and so does the website’s footer.
  • A security page for church boards and IT people at livefy.live/security: what leaves the building, who can change what, how passwords are kept, and the web addresses a church network must allow.
  • Pages in Korean (livefy.live/ko) and Portuguese (livefy.live/pt) for Korean and Brazilian churches, each with the demo church in its language.

Versions 0.232.1 to 0.235.1

Small console touches

  • The phone previews on the Live page and on Phones & screens now sit in a picture of a real phone.
  • After pressing "Sign in", the button stays busy until the console opens.

Versions 0.222.1 to 0.232.0

Slides and videos with the translation

  • Slides: add the pastor’s PDF or pictures in the Slides panel and click through them with the buttons, the arrow keys or a clicker. The translation sits beside the slide or over it on every screen, and slides can be saved for every service, next to the welcome card.
  • Videos can go up as slides too, kept on the console’s computer for 7 days and started with "Play". While one plays in a service, the translation listens to the video’s own sound, and "Words on screens" can hide the captions over it while phones carry on.
  • The time left reads in hours and minutes, such as "2 h 28 min left", and with several languages on it also says how long the service can run at that rate.
  • On the Live page the phone preview now sits beside the display, and tips wait for the pointer to rest after their first few showings, with a "Show tips" switch in Settings.
  • Turned on its side, the phone page keeps the live words and adds a slim bar for languages, text size and "Listen".

Versions 0.219.4 to 0.222.0

The welcome card, and captions you drag into place

  • The welcome card: set a card with your logo, name, languages and the phone QR code on Phones & screens, then show it on the screens at its own link or download it as a picture.
  • Drag the captions up or down in the console’s display to place them; the Position slider is gone.
  • Screens show no empty caption bar before a service, while paused or after "End service", so overlays in ProPresenter and OBS stay clean between services.
  • The Live page is rearranged and the Displays page is gone, since the Outputs card does the same job. "Running today" moves to the status line.
  • The phone preview on Phones & screens is drawn to scale.

Versions 0.219.0 to 0.219.3

Screens follow the console again

  • A Screen or Overlay link without a language shows the console’s caption language again, and changes with it during a service.
  • A church’s screen, overlay, phone, audio feed and QR sheet links are now kept for good, so they never change.
  • Opening Screen or Overlay in the Outputs card switches the Text and Backdrop cards to that output, so changes reach the right screen.

Versions 0.196.0 to 0.218.1

Fixes

  • Opening the printable phone cards while signed out shows the sign-in form, and signing in opens the cards.
  • Signed in, the website’s buttons say "Get this plan" or "Go to dashboard" instead of offering the free trial.

Versions 0.178.8 to 0.186.4

Choose the voice for each language

  • Settings > Phones lets a church choose the voice for each caption language, and hear it read John 3:16 before choosing.
  • The phone voice keeps the chosen voice’s own steady pace, and a new choice for how it reads, "Whole sentences", starts about half a minute behind the speaker and reads each sentence whole.
  • While "Listen" is on, the words on the phone follow the voice, so the word being read is always on screen.
  • The Romanian voice reads Bible references the way a preacher says them, such as "Matei 2 cu 24".
  • The free trial now lasts 14 days from sign-up. Free hours not used by then end, while the account, its history and any bought hours stay, and a service on air sees the trial’s last 30 minutes counted down.
  • If the console’s computer goes to sleep, phones wait half an hour for it to come back. Someone who signs up on a phone can email themselves the link to open on the computer at the sound desk.

Versions 0.176.4 to 0.178.7

Voice and phone settings for each church

  • Settings > Phones lets each church choose how the voice reads, how many lines phones show and whether the word being read lights up. Changes apply from the next "Go live".
  • Every church now starts with two rooms ready to use: an Overflow room with the screen and words on phones, and a Kids room with the voice on phones.
  • Phones & screens shows the phone preview on the left and explains rooms, with an "Add a room" button, and the switches in the room form now show whether they are on or off.
  • The phone page shows the Livefy logo in its header, with more space between its parts.
  • A phone that switches from Wi-Fi to mobile data during a service is counted once, not twice.

Versions 0.175.0 to 0.176.3

Fixes

  • When a line fails to translate, a second caption language now leaves it out instead of showing the first language’s words.
  • Chinese and Japanese captions no longer put a space between clauses.
  • Stray English words at the end of a line are now taken out of captions in Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic and Russian, and so are Chinese characters in Korean captions.

Versions 0.165.0 to 0.174.2

When hours run out, and rebuilt setup guides

  • When hours run out during a service, a monthly or yearly plan carries on for 30 more minutes, taken from the next hours, and every other account stops at zero. The console counts down the last 30 minutes and then holds the service: add hours and press "Resume service" in the same browser tab within two hours to carry on.
  • When a new line starts, the lines above slide up first and the new word appears after, on screens, the overlay, the console and phones.
  • If the microphone stops or a shared tab stops sharing during a service, the console says what to do instead of reconnecting again and again.
  • In Safari and Firefox, which cannot share a tab’s sound, the "Browser tab" source is marked "Chrome or Edge only", and a blocked microphone is explained in that browser’s own steps.
  • The OBS Studio, vMix and ProPresenter guides are rebuilt with a picture for every step, and the help page has a new section on following along on phones.

Versions 0.158.2 to 0.164.0

Plan hours, refunds and a clearer sign-up

  • When a plan ends, its hours and any free hours end with it. Hours bought outright stay, since they never expire.
  • Refunds are within 30 days of a payment, for the hours of it not yet used, once per church, as set out on the new Terms page.
  • Checkout takes cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay included, and asks you to agree to the Terms.
  • Sign-up says what you get and what happens next, takes the password once with a "Show" button, and on a phone says that services run from a laptop or desktop computer.
  • Sign-in, sign-up and password pages follow your light or dark setting, and "Buy 5 hours" on the events page carries through sign-up straight to payment.

Versions 0.157.1 to 0.158.1

Single events use hours bought once

  • The Event plan is gone: a single event, such as a wedding or a funeral, now uses a pack of hours bought once, with no plan needed.
  • The free trial is for a church’s regular services, so the event pages offer hours to buy instead.

Versions 0.155.3 to 0.157.0

Referrals, plan changes and clearer messages

  • Referrals: a church on a paid plan finds a referral link and code on its Billing page, and when a church that signs up with it pays for its first plan, both get 10 free hours.
  • A paying church changes plan in place: it sees the cost first, pays only the difference and gets the hours it paid for.
  • If a payment fails, the church is told to update its card.
  • During a service the hours left count down, a refused start says why in plain words, and a console that has been signed out says so with a "Sign in" button.
  • "Manage billing" shows only for churches that have billing, and the red banner offers "Retry" only for problems starting or running a service.
  • Confirmation links keep working after an email filter has checked them, and a link clicked again opens the console instead of saying it expired.

Version 0.155.2

Fixes

  • Microphone and tab sharing problems are explained in plain words with what to do, such as closing Zoom or Teams, and Chrome’s "Also share tab audio" switch is called by its current name.

Versions 0.154.1 to 0.155.1

Fixes for pausing and language changes

  • Changing languages quickly during a service no longer leaves the console listening several times over, which could stop the captions with "Request timeout".
  • A pause longer than 30 minutes now disconnects, and "Resume" connects again.
  • After "End service" and a new "Go live", extra caption languages get their translations again.
  • The console’s own preview of what guests see no longer counts as a phone.

September 2026

Versions 0.152.0 to 0.154.0

A pace setting for the words

  • Settings has "How fast words appear": "Regular", "Fast" or "Fastest". Words still come one at a time, and screens, the overlay and phones follow the choice, even during a service.
  • On a large monitor the console keeps its usual layout, enlarged evenly, instead of spreading the cards thin.

Versions 0.147.1 to 0.150.1

Less mobile data for the phone voice

  • The translated voice on phones now uses much less mobile data.
  • The open Screen, Overlay or Audio feed panel in the Outputs card updates when the caption languages change.
  • The OBS Studio guide has a real screenshot under every step.

Versions 0.146.2 to 0.147.0

Lower plan prices

  • Lower monthly and yearly prices for the Church, Church Plus and Church Max plans.
  • On the phone page, the word "Stop" on the green button is easy to read again.

Versions 0.143.0 to 0.146.0

Clearer confirmation emails

  • Confirmation emails come from "Livefy", carry the church’s name and have a "Confirm my email" button.
  • The last service card on Home shows the time billed across all caption languages.

Versions 0.136.0 to 0.142.1

New prices and a privacy page

  • New prices for the church plans and for bought hours, which cost less for a church with a plan. The console and the sign-up page show each church its own price.
  • A new Privacy page says what Livefy keeps and for how long, and the words of a service are no longer kept in the server’s logs.
  • On the sign-up page, the plan buttons go straight to checkout instead of redrawing the page.

Versions 0.130.0 to 0.135.0

The voice lights up each word

  • While a phone plays the translated voice, the word being read lights up in its captions.
  • The voice reads whole phrases, waiting for a comma or full stop, instead of reading each caption line on its own.
  • Phones show five lines of live translation instead of three, and a phone on its side never pushes the newest line off the screen.
  • A paused service stays connected, so "Resume" carries straight on.
  • "Print cards" beside "Print sheet" prints the church’s phone code as eight business cards to a page, with an optional line for the occasion.
  • Captions and the voice now treat the punctuation of Chinese, Japanese, Arabic and Hindi as the end of a phrase.

Versions 0.124.0 to 0.129.0

Owners and helpers

  • Only the person who opened the account pays, changes the plan, buys hours, invites people and deletes kept services. Helpers run services and change settings, and the console tells them who can do the rest.
  • A confirmation link opened in a different browser from the one that signed up asks for a password first.
  • After a password reset, browsers still signed in from before are signed out.

Versions 0.121.0 to 0.123.1

Sign-up and password reset

  • Signing up and accepting an invitation ask for the password twice, so a typo cannot lock you out.
  • "Forgot password" is now a form of its own: your email and a "Reset password" button.
  • An account whose email is still not confirmed a day after sign-up gets one reminder with a fresh link.

Versions 0.118.1 to 0.120.5

Who runs the service

  • The Organization page holds the names of the volunteers who run services. Pick who is running today beside "Go live", and History shows who ran each service.
  • Only the "Go live" and "End service" buttons start or end a service: the Space bar no longer does.
  • Captions have more room inside their backdrop, and accent marks no longer blink as the lines roll up.
  • On the Organization page, the usual service’s day and start time are one field, "Day and start time".

Versions 0.116.2 to 0.118.0

The audio feed, and caption fixes

  • Audio feed: a page that plays one language’s translated voice and nothing else, to cable into the mixer or a headset transmitter. Its links are on the "Audio feed" tile in the Outputs card, and the page has a test tone, a volume control and a level meter.
  • Captions are less likely to put a full stop where the preacher only paused, to repeat half a sentence, or to cut a word in two.
  • Captions are held to the caption language’s own alphabet, to keep stray letters from other scripts out.
  • Well-known names, such as those of Bible figures, are written the way they are usually spelled, and a name Livefy does not recognise is left as heard rather than translated.
  • A verse number spoken in two parts is kept whole, and a verse read word for word in Romanian captions uses the wording of the Romanian Bible churches read.

Versions 0.105.0 to 0.116.1

A new Home page and a first-run walk

  • A new Home page in the console shows the next service, the hours left and about how many services they cover, the last service, and what is still to set up. It also warns when a service is already on air from another computer.
  • A short first-run walk shows a new volunteer around Home and the Live page. It never blocks the console, and "Show me around again" in Settings replays it.
  • Each church gets a short six-character code for its phone page, and a printable sheet with the code, the QR code and three lines telling guests what to do.
  • A new Organization page holds the church’s name and its usual service, day and time, and the screen outputs move to a new Displays page.
  • The browser’s Back and Forward buttons move between the console’s pages, and a confirmation link that has expired or was already used says so and can send a new one.

Versions 0.103.1 to 0.104.2

Livefy opens to every church

  • Any church can now sign up and try Livefy with free hours, no credit card needed.
  • A service runs from Chrome on a laptop or desktop computer at the sound desk. Livefy hears the preacher through the board, a microphone or a browser tab and translates live into any of 60 languages, a word at a time.
  • Captions go on the room’s screens and, through a see-through Overlay link, into OBS Studio, vMix and ProPresenter, with the text and backdrop styled from the console.
  • Guests scan a QR code and follow on their own phone with no app: they pick a language and read along, or tap "Listen" to hear a translated voice.
  • Rooms give each place its own link and settings, such as words without sound for an overflow room or the voice for a kids room, and "Pause" stops the translation during songs.
  • History lists every service, and with "Keep the words of each service" turned on, each service’s words can be read or downloaded there.
